Over years of testing and refining, we took his unique parallel mastering process and made it accessible to anyone at any skill level. Utopia bakes in all the complex setup and tuning. It started in 2022 when Luca reached out with an idea he’d been sitting on for a while — a plugin that would make his own mastering workflow faster and less time-consuming. The concept was simple: take his parallel dynamics and saturation process, the one he used on every master, and package it in a way that didn’t require hours of careful setup every single time.
What followed was years of back and forth, testing, and an almost obsessive amount of measuring and tuning by Luca. Optimal threshold values for every possible crossover point, frequency balance studies across different genres, countless hours making sure the results held up on anything you threw at it. The goal was never to dumb the process down — it was to do all the hard work upfront, once, so nobody else ever has to.

Utopia splits your signal into three independent bands, each with its own carefully tuned processing. Move the crossover points to where they make sense for your track, and Utopia automatically adapts everything behind the scenes to match.
Two processes, one sound
At the core of Utopia is a parallel combination of dynamics processing and saturation, working together to get your track loud, controlled, and full of character at the same time. The blend slider lets you find the sweet spot between the two, and loudness matching between the paths means your ears are never fooled by volume. Each band comes with its own set of dynamics modes, tuned specifically for the selected frequency range.
Built to be trusted
In many modulation effects, the results change depending on when you press play in your DAW, so the sound is never quite the same twice. Aurbit avoids this by always keeping its modulation phase locked with the host, making the motion consistent and predictable. With the Phase slider, you can change the modulation starting point to match Aurbit’s movement just the right way with your music.
Utopia was born from the need for a high-quality multiband compressor capable of delivering a modern sound in just a few moves, without losing focus on the project or getting lost in dozens of controls.
Every detail and hidden parameter is based on settings used daily in real mastering sessions, then further fine-tuned through the studies and testing carried out at LUNA Studio over the past 4 years.
No compromises were made : even the simplest processors, such as the filters and clippers, were designed and customized to recreate the original sound of the mastering chain as accurately as possible.
